Our names are Ashes and Brownie.
Our mom and dad rescued both of us, but at different times.

Ashes- I was a stray that was seen by my mommy and daddy's neighbor for 10 months before they ever saw me. When they saw me for the first time I was very hungry. I was very cautious at first, however I immediately began playing with the new beagle puppy my mommy and daddy had just gotten. After a couple of months of coming whenever I needed a good meal, my future mommy and daddy let me spend the night in the house because the temperature had dropped below 0 degrees!
Already owning a cat and dog and two children, my future mommy and daddy didn't want to take on the added responsibility for a new feline friend. They placed me on a wait list at a no kill facility and was told the wait could be four to six months.
Well, needless to say, I made my mommy and daddy fall in love with me and they decided to adopt me permanently.
I tolerate everyone in house and love to torment and romp the canine they call Belle.
I can always be depended upon for a morning snuggle in the bed before my mommy and daddy gets up. That is probably my favorite part of the day. My daddy especially loves it when I give him a back rub by kneading with all four paws!!!
I have certainly adapted well from my days of eating birds, rabbits and moles. (I still catch them from time to time. I can't seem to shake the taste I acquired for them!!)

Brownie - I was born in the summer of 1988 in Citrus Heights, CA to a stray mommy who hung around an apartments complex.
I had five brothers and sisters. My future mommy and daddy moved into the apartment complex three months after I was born. My siblings and I were all well taken care of by the tenants in the apartment complex. One tenant even found homes for my brothers and sisters. However, as the kittens got bigger, the less apt people were to feed us.
My future mommy and daddy were slated to move into military housing four months later and couldn't bear to leave me behind. Two weeks after they actually moved, they went back to the apartment complex only to find me looking for scraps in the dumpster.
They immediately saved me from an uncertain future and fell in love. Since then, I have lived at nine different addresses in five different states, but have spent the last four years in Missouri where my mommy and daddy have settled down permanently.
I have a very pampered life and get to roam three wooded acres and sunbathe on the deck.
Since then, our mommy and daddy have had another baby and the house is quite full and content by all accounts. I, since I was around before any of the people kittens, only favor my mommy and can always be depended on for some quiet lap time in the evenings. I love it when the people kittens are in bed. I especially love to sit with her in bed at night and when she is attempting to cross stitch. I love to swat at the floss!!!

We hope we are choosen as your pampered prince and princess of the month. For you see, had it not been for our mommy and daddy, we may not be here today. We certainly appreciate our pampered existence and show our mommy and daddy how much we love them every day.
